Overview

The Melon

Create the first boutique hotel in the Villa de Muros, a dreamy seaside town in Galicia, with a dual purpose: offer guests a sanctuary to rest and reset — and house a salt interpretation center to honor the town’s ancient saline heritage. Oh, and one more thing: “Close your eyes and design the hotel you've always wanted to create.” That was the brief from Johanna and Domi.

What We Cracked

To deliver something truly meaningful, we dove deep into the context — analyzing hotel trends, brand behaviors, and the symbolic richness of the environment. What we discovered: the boutique hotel market in Muros was non-existent, and the story of salt in the town was ripe for reimagination.
That led us to our core concept: Salt Reboot Hotel. A new kind of hospitality space that helps people reset body, mind, and soul — through salt, nature’s original restorative.

From that truth, we built the narrative, the name, and a complete experience ecosystem. We created a brand that’s not just beautiful — it’s deeply rooted in meaning and memory.

The Juice

We named the hotel Otantus, inspired by the Otanthus Maritimus, a resilient halophyte plant that thrives in the salty lands surrounding Muros. Rare, local, and strong despite appearances — just like the project. The name feels premium, poetic, and otherworldly, giving us a powerful narrative playground.

Visually, the identity leans into tradition with a twist: a typographic system echoing Galician fonts, softened by marine curves. The color palette reflects the plant’s own tones — soft greys and sage greens — chosen to soothe, calm, and invite reflection.

For the interiors, we proposed a sanctuary-like Look & Feel: intimate, monochromatic, and honest. Each suite was imagined as a “salt cocoon,” with natural light, local craftsmanship, and scenographic lighting designed to evoke stillness and slowness. Every design decision was made to offer guests the feeling of a reset — and help the owners bring it to life with clarity and consistency.

We also extended the brand into space — with botanical stamp-style illustrations for signage and room identifiers, and experience touchpoints that turn salt into story, everywhere you go.

The Flavor

Otantus isn’t just the hotel Muros was missing. It’s a brand-new way to experience rest, wellness, and local identity — from the inside out.

A meaningful brand, a sanctuary built from the ground up, and a dream made real.
Sales siempre mejor. That’s not just a promise. It’s the whole point.
